Newest project; 'Celtic Collage' for future publication via www.masquerade-music.co.uk (June 23, 2012)
Those who know me will be aware of my love of celtic music, and folk/world music come to that! I was brought up listening to Steeleye Span, The Dubliners and suchlike and later became enchanted with the music of Bill Whelan via his magnificent 'Riverdance' score.
Inevitably then all these little seeds have decided to sprout in my latest collection of original compositions; 'Celtic Collage'. With influences from the aforementioned genre's (but still with a few 'Keri-isms' evident) I hope you'll enjoy the varying moods in the collection; lively reels/jigs to reflective laments.
The book is estimated to be available in the Summer from Masquerade music, and soon after musicroom.com and other good retailers. The collection (score, pull out solo instrument part & CD demo/backing tracks) will be available for flute, but also more than likely violin, Clarinet/Bb sax, and Eb saxophone. The collection is aimed at players around grade 6 and above though many of the tunes are achievable by less able players.
At present we're finalising the mixing/recording but here's a taste of one of the more reflective tracks, and remember that there are some lively pieces in addition to keep you on your toes!
