Happy new year!

I've had a most lovely Christmas, relaxing with the family, getting addicted to the Stephanie Meyer series 'Twilight' (I read the first 2 books within 4 days, apologies for my unsociable-ness to my family!) and enjoyed the film, though I haven't seen 'New moon' yet. I was able to get fresh inspiration from various sources which will no doubt fuel new composition projects in the upcoming year.

As another year dawns I find myself yet again mulling over the coming year and what is planned. Although I can be desperately unorganised at times I do always prioritise organising student goals and newsletters (most of my students see the precarious height of various music books stacked in my studio until I get fed up and have a mammoth filing session around once every 6 weeks! To be fair though, I can usually remember the location of which 'pile' the desired book is in!). Although it goes against my nature to write lists and plan my schedule impeccably (might as well put me in a straight jacket!) I AM organised in many aspects of my life.

In order to get where you are aiming for then it is soooooo important to have an action plan, the ultimate goal shining brightly at the end, and the various checkpoints along the way that need to be reached.

Every new year I ceremoniously print a list of the things I would like to achieve, and so far this has always worked well. I, like many others, run the risk of being a 'drifter' if I don't have this plan of action, and I don't want to be one of those.

Why not set yourself some targets for this year, you may well surprise even yourself!
